What’s new in ECC – the year in review

25 Oct 2025
RVC Clinical Theatre 2
ECC , Internal Medicine

We’ve selected 8 papers related to ECC from the last year that we’re excited to share with you. These include the causes of generalized tremors in 198 dogs, the prevalence of malignant vs benign disease in dogs with ruptured splenic tumours, different approaches to antimicrobial therapy in dogs with aspiration pneumonia, and the role of carboxyhemoglobin as a marker hemolytic anemia in cats. We’ll also discuss high flow nasal oxygen therapy in dogs with left sided congestive heart failure, a comparison of IV apomorphine vs. ropinirole in dogs, risk factors and outcome in dogs with fluid overload, and a survey of veterinary emergency service pause systems.

At the end of this lecture attendees will be able to:

  • Recall take home points from recent ECC literature.
