Alan Taylor
Clinical Anaesthetist - Head Veterinary Education and Research,
Cityu Veterinary Medical Centre
After 17 years in the Royal Air Force, Dr Alan Taylor graduated from Bristol, UK, in 2006. An equine internship preceded a Staff Clinician position at the Royal Veterinary College and after passing his Certificate in Veterinary Anaesthesia he undertook an alternative track residency in anaesthesia and analgesia. Moving to Hong Kong in 2014 he passed his Diploma exams in 2017 and guided the development of a specialist anaesthesia team of 2 Diplomates, 1 clinician and 8 nurses at CityU Veterinary Medical Centre. He is interested in anaesthesia for the respiratory case as well as anaesthesia for the emergent GI patient in all species, although the equine colic case is a favourite challenge. He is enjoying teaching clinical anaesthesia again to the undergraduate students of CityU Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences.
