When I was 14, I told my dad that I wanted to be a Vet Nurse after he brought home our first puppy. And he asked me if that was my dream and urged me to realise my dream and do my best to achieve it. While all my peers went for traditional JC/Diploma route, I was working as a Vet Assistant and studying my Cert II at the same time. And fast-forward to 19 years later, I am now the Head Technician in one of the pioneer GP clinics for the past 7 years and managing a team of 10-12 nurses. I have fulfilled the requirement of being a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) as set down by Australian Veterinary Nurse and Technician Registration Scheme (AVNAT). I am honoured to have the privilege to be one of the Founding members of Singapore Veterinary Nurse Technician Chapter of Singapore Veterinary Association(SVNTC) under S'pore Veterinary Association (SVA). I hope to continue to do my best as being animal advocate and recognise all other vet nurses and technicians who have such positive and great impact on animal health and welfare.
