Junyong is the Co-founder and CEO of Pawlyclinic, a complete on-demand pet healthcare platform offering pet parents access to pet telemedicine, in-clinic veterinary care, prescriptions and electronic health records for their pets anytime, anywhere. Prior to founding Pawlyclinic, Junyong was an investment banker and started his career on Wall Street before moving back to Singapore to cover Southeast Asia. Throughout his investment banking career, he has advised some of the largest and fastest-growing companies in the tech, healthcare and consumer sectors on landmark M&A and capital-raising transactions across both the public and private markets. Junyong and his co-founder and sister, Dr Rachel Tong had the idea to start Pawlyclinic after seeing the pain points for both pet parents and healthcare providers in the traditional veterinary care setting. For pet parents, such pain points include difficulty with getting an appointment, limited 24-hour and emergency vet services, the stress of travelling to the clinic and long waiting times. There was also no easy way of storing the health records of their pets. For vet practices and vets, given the significant growth in pet ownership rates in recent years, they find themselves overwhelmed with in-clinic consultations and in need of technology to serve clients better, deliver more comprehensive and continuous care to pets as well as extend care beyond the walls of their clinic. Junyong and Dr Rachel thus made it their personal mission to make veterinary care omnipresent, simple and efficient by helping vet practices and vets go digital.
