Co-Founder & Chief Veterinary Officer,
Dr Rachel Tong is the Co-founder and Chief Veterinary Officer of Pawlyclinic. Pawlyclinic is a complete on-demand pet healthcare platform offering pet parents access to telemedicine, in-clinic veterinary care, prescriptions and electronic health records for their pets anytime, anywhere. Dr Tong practised in a small animal practice in Singapore for a few years after graduating from Murdoch University, Western Australia in 2010. She then founded Spring Veterinary Care in 2014. To date, Spring Veterinary Care has 2 clinics in Singapore and has grown to become one of the most established veterinary practices in Singapore. Dr Tong had the idea to start Pawlyclinic after seeing the pain points for both pet parents and veterinary care providers in the traditional veterinary setting. For pet parents, such pain points include difficulty with getting an appointment, limited 24-hour and emergency vet services, the stress of travelling to the clinic and long waiting times. There was also no easy way of storing the health records of their pets. For vet practices and vets, given the significant growth in pet ownership rates in recent years, they find themselves overwhelmed with in-clinic consultations and in need of technology to serve clients better, deliver more comprehensive and continuous care to pets as well as extend care beyond the walls of their clinic. Dr Tong and her co-founder (and brother), Junyong Tong, therefore embarked on their mission to make veterinary care omnipresent, simple and efficient by helping vet practices and vets go digital.
