
Suppawiwat Ponglowhapan

Assistant Professor Dr. Suppawiwat Ponglowhapan received his DVM (Hons) from Chulalongkorn University in 1997. He accomplished his M.Sc. at Swedish University of Agricultural Science in 2004 and a PhD in 2009 at The Royal Veterinary College, University of London with the PhD thesis entitled ‘The potential role of gonadotrophins in the lower urinary tract of dogs with particular emphasis on differences between intact and gonadectomised animals’. He has been awarded a Diplomate of the Thai Board of Theriogenology in 2015. Since 2018, he has served as head department of Obstetrics Gynaecology and Reproduction, Faculty of Veterinary Science, Chulalongkorn University He is providing teaching and patient care at the Small Animal teaching Hospital, Faculty of Veterinary Science, Chulalongkorn university, and is mentoring internship, M.Sc., Ph.D. and postdoctoral fellowship in Theriogenology. His major interests have encompassed clinical reproduction, breeding management, artificial insemination, semen preservation, infertility and contraception in the dog and cat. He has published more than 37 peer-reviewed papers in the area of small animal reproduction, e.g. semen preservation, post-spay urinary incontinence, prostate, reproductive aging and male contraception.
