Major APAC Veterinary Conference in Singapore welcomed 1,133 attendees from more than 42 countries

The inaugural Singapore Vet was held on 11-12 October at Suntec, Singapore.

SINGAPORE, 11 Nov 2019 – Organised by CloserStill Media and in association with The Royal Veterinary College (RVC), London, and the Singapore Veterinary Association, Singapore Vet – a major new veterinary conference and exhibition – recently wrapped its inaugural show at Suntec Singapore on 11-12 October 2019 with 1,133 veterinary professionals from across the globe to gain RACE-accredited veterinary education, via clinical and business content in a multi-stream programme. Along with the strong delegate attendance from Asia and Australia, the exhibit hall saw more than 80 international exhibitors showcase their veterinary products and services.

The clinical content streams were developed by CloserStill Media’s long-established partner and leading global veterinary school, the RVC, the same team that produces the world-famous and award-winning London Vet Show. Singapore Vet also hosted business and innovation theatres in which topics such as business trends, digital platforms and marketing were covered. In total, over 50 sessions were presented by world-class leaders and visionary thinkers in both veterinary medicine and business. Delegates also benefited from the opportunity to network with vet industry leaders such as Prof Jill Maddison, Prof David Church, Dr Alan Taylor, Dr Christopher Tan, and a wide range of local and international leading suppliers including IDEXX, Zoetis, Hill’s Pet Nutrition, Bayer, Huger, Medtronic, K-Laser, Andover and Alpha Vet Tech.

Guest-of-Honour, Ms Sun Xueling, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Home Affairs and National Development, delivered the opening speech for the event.

Ms Sun said, “The health of humans and animals is closely linked. Thus, veterinarians play a critical role in safeguarding public health. They help to detect and control the spread of zoonotic diseases, and combat anti-microbial resistance. I look forward to our veterinarians strengthening their competencies and knowledge so as to continue to provide the best care for animals, and safeguard public health.”

Sarah Netherway, Event Director, Singapore Vet comments, “We have been so excited to launch Singapore Vet in partnership with the RVC and SVA this year and it surpassed all of our expectations. Welcoming so many vets, practice owners, clinical directors and regional vet associations from 42+ countries (1,133 attendees)! It was a busy, fruitful show for all. The positive feedback we have had has been mirrored in the number of our exhibitors and delegates who have confirmed their attendance next year – keep an eye out on our conference programme updates coming soon!”

Dr Timothy Chua, President, Singapore Veterinary Association said, “The inaugural Singapore Vet 2019 has been a great success! The international crowd brought life and vibrancy to the event. Everyone enjoyed their time and it has been a great opportunity to interact with friends and colleagues. Singapore Veterinary Association looks forward to next year's edition of the Singapore Vet."

Singapore Vet will return to Suntec Singapore on 23-24 October 2020.
